Aliyah turned 1 year old on 11/11/11. It was a pretty big deal to her. She enjoyed the extra attention and all the new toys to play with. We knew it would take her a while to open presents and so we started the night before and continued all day the next day opening 1 or 2 in between naps and before bedtime.

My sister gave me this idea to take pictures of Aliyah every month as she grew for the 1st year. I printed out the pictures and made a poster for everyone to see at her birthday party.

I asked a missionary friend Chrysti to make her cake since she has a talent more making decorative cakes. She made Aliyah a basket cake with cupcake flowers sticking up out of it. There were 2 other plates of flowers too to share with everyone. Aliyah ate the ladybug.

I had brought a change of clothes for Aliyah thinking that she would make a total mess eating her cake. It's tradition, right? Instead she ate it slowly with 2 fingers and never made a mess of her clothes.

Aliyah was pretty excited to get new toys since we don't have many and most are for little babies like rattles and things.

| Playing with her new fridge magnets that keep her busy while we're cooking. |

| For lunch on her birthday she was able to have some leftover cake from the party from night before. |
We are so blessed to have little Aliyah. She's so full of energy, smiles, kisses and all around such a sweet little kid!
